Its a cool game and I played it for a few weeks every day after I got it, but there is not much depth to the gameplay to keep me coming back to it after 25hrs.

I actually prefer multiplayer games over single player for the most part. I understand that it's all personal preference, but basic isn't how I'd describe it, though I might not be thinking basic in the same way you are. That's part of what adds to the immersion for me, though, since you're piloting a several stories high hunk of metal.Īlso, when you say basic visual, what do you mean? Personally, I think the game looks amazing, especially considering the visible damage/destruction of armor/destruction of limbs that changes based on what weapon you're hitting it with. You can get moving pretty well with the jump jets, but the walking pace is indeed pretty slow. It doesn't have co-op per se, but you can play all the modes against bots with your friends.Īs far as that pace, it's a mix. That threw me off at first, too, since I had flashbacks of poorly implemented Gear VR games, but it actually works well, and I prefer it over the controls in Archangel. You don't move with your head, you aim with it. Typically I'd point to marketing in this situation, but Several big Youtube channels have done videos about it and liked it, so that doesn't seem to be the issue.īut back to my original question, why isn't it more popular? What do you all think? If you don't have it, what about it doesn't appeal to you? If you do, why don't you play it more or why did you stop playing? There was a good amount of players when it released, but that dropped hard in the first week, and not long after it settled into its current state where concurrent players on Steam averages in the 20's or less. Now, you can play against bots, and that's all fine and dandy, but I'm not a big fan of playing against bots, so it's disappointing to me that the community isn't larger. The thing is, very few people are playing it.

One of the most requested games back when (whenever someone asked what kind of game you'd want to play in VR) was a mech game, and Vox knocks it out of the park imo. All the little details and mechanics they added into the game make it one of the most immersive experiences I've had in VR to date. It's very well done and super polished for a VR title. So, one of my favorite games that came out for VR in 2018 was Vox Machinae.
